Job Duties
To understand and observe all of Carroll Concrete Co./Newport Sand & Gravel Co., Inc.’s policies and procedures including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Training Manual, SAFE Policy, Safety Manual and Drug Free Work Place Manual.
Summary
The Loader Operator position is responsible for overall cleanliness/general housekeeping of the designated yard/location. By safe and efficient operation of a loader, this position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to feeding the crusher, moving material, loading customers, and working on the crusher alongside the crushing team, when necessary. Experience with general mechanics and fabrication is preferred. It is expected that this position works closely with the crusher operator to fix/maintain the constant operation of the crushing facility. This position requires flexibility and experience running equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Safe and efficient operation of front-end loader
2. Maintain material feed to crushing operation
3. Load customer’s as necessary
4. Properly document fuel pumped from bulk tank
5. Perform pre and post trip inspections
6. Prepare Daily Inspection Reports
7. Weekly and general vehicle maintenance (including but not limited to preventive maintenance, making adjustments, replacing minor parts and lubricating the loader where required and when necessary)
8. Proper cleaning of loader inside and outside
9. Plant/Yard maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned (to include but not limited to sweeping and other general cleanup work
10. Understand and observe Carroll Concrete Company’s policies and procedures regarding customer relations
11. Other duties as directed or as necessary
12. Backup Dump Truck Driver/Dump Truck Driver
13. Maintenance on plant equipment/buildings as necessary
Desired Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills:
1. Must be dependable, a team player and be safety conscious
2. Must be able to deal professionally with plant employees and other drivers
3. Common sense and good judgement and willingness to work
4. Excellent defensive driving skills
Experience:
Previous experience working on a crushing facility is preferred
Experience with general mechanics and fabrication is preferred
Loader operating experience is preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
1. Proper licensing is required for on road operation
Restrictions:
1. Must be able to maneuver in and out of equipment safely
1. Must be able to lift or maneuver up to 75lbs. multiple times throughout the workday
2. Must inspect all areas of equipment and plant, daily
3. Must perform plant maintenance
4. Perform multiple tasks under stressful situations over long periods of time while maintaining proper composure
5. Must be able to work flexible hours as necessary
6. Perform multiple tasks of sustained viewing activity at rear of loader utilizing mirrors while driving and manipulating controls
