What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech and Language Pathologist position at Newport School District?
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other speech and language patholgists and speech and language assistants to provide a comprehensive speech and language program for the district.
Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other Speech Language Pathologists to complete all district communication evaluations, in a timely manner.
Provide the team and parent with a written report at the evaluation review meeting.
Provide individual and group therapy based on students' Individualized Education Plans and 504 plans
Provide Response to Intervention services based on students' individual needs
Consult with team members, classroom teachers and parents in regards to students needs and treatment
Attend weekly educational resource team meetings, when and where appropriate
Case manage students, when assigned
Assist case managers with development of individualized education plans, eligibility documents, and other required documents for special education purposes
Provide in-district professional development when requested
Monitor student progress, in regards to individual education plans, and document through therapy notes and progress reports
Have an understanding and comply with any state or federal regulations regarding the position of a speech pathologist
Complete Medicaid reimbursement forms in a timely manner.
Monitor and provide ongoing support to any speech assistants within the district
Any other duties assigned by administration
