What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-K Director position at Newport Special School District?
Newport School District is now accepting applications for a Pre-K Director for the 25-26 school year. Newport PreK is located on the elementary campus ans serves over 100 students. A program that is vital to the development of our future Greyhounds. This job requires the following qualifications.
1. Twenty-one (21) Years of Age or older and provide documentation of one(1) of the flollowing educational levels:
a. Bachelor's Degree or high Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university. (Determination of "related field" shall be made by the Division)
b. Bachelor's Degree in a non-related field from a regionally accredited college or univerisyt plus one(1) of the following:
. Four(4) Years of experience in early childhood education,
. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA); or
. Birth - Pre-K Credential.
c. Associate degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field, plus six(6) years of experience in Early Childhood Education; or
d. Eight(8) years of experience in Early Childhood Education and completion of one(1) of the following, within two(2) years of employment:
.Child Development Associate Credential;
. Birth - Pre-K Credential
. Director's Credential or the equivalent; or
. Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education
Responsibilites include:
A. Administering, planning, managing, and controlling the daily activities of the center;
B. Ensuring that the facility meets licensing requirements;
C. Ensuring the health and safety of children; and
D. Providing prudent supervision of all staff and volunteers.
This position includes extended contract days as well as salary index for additional duties.
