What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at NewPower Worldwide?
The Quality Inspector is an integral part of NewPower Worldwide and is responsible for electrical component inspections, documentation, and assisting with conforming/non-conforming decisions throughout the quality control process. More specifically:
Responsibilities
• In conjunction with the warehouse/ receiving team, conduct inspections of inbound electronic components and identify non-conformances and potential counterfeit.
• Document the inspection process through thorough digital photography, microscopy, and other methodologies.
• Make conforming/non-conforming decisions on electronic components based on results of the incoming inspection and report these results to Quality, Warehouse, and Commodity Managers.
• Communicate any non-conformances to the appropriate management and purchasing teams.
• Help create any customer-required documentations, including Inspection Reports, Certificate of Conformance, and other inspection-related documents.
• Research datasheets, historical recipes, and other sources as needed.
• Maintain and or achieve IDEA ICE-3000 certification.
• Assist with shipping / receiving when needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree and or 1-3years’ experience in quality/engineering
• Working knowledge of QC principals and standards
• Experience with ESD compliance is a plus.
• IDEA ICE-3000 Certificate a plus or ability to obtain in 6 months of employment
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, vendors, and customers.
• Willingness to pitch in and get any job done as needed.
