Required Responsibilities
Supervisory and Management
- Assist in the oversight of the Pick & Pack department.
- Assist in the management and supervision of the work of all employees within the department.
- Provide vision and clear expectations to all team members.
- Ensure that all staffing needs and caliber of people are met in coordination with HR.
- Develop Deputy Managers and Leads to the next level of leadership.
- Hold team members accountable for all expectations.
- Assist in any coaching and corrective actions with the assistance of the department manager and HR.
- Ensure tablets are being used 100% of the time.
- Contribute and implement ideas to improve and optimize warehouse flow and functions.
- Promote a safe work environment by being an example, reminding, and correcting the team members.
- Show initiative in helping team members solve problems.
- Other job duties may be assigned based on operational need
Operational
- Take ownership of the operations by taking full responsibility for anything within the department
- Ensure all employees are given the tools and coaching needed to succeed.
- Ensure all carts are filled accurately, promptly, and high-quality according to the datasheets and clients’ requirements.
- Ensure that processes are as efficient as possible.
- Empower team members to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Bring any concerns and recommendations to the management’s attention.
- Communicate with the warehouse department about any stock item needs.
- Foresee potential needs or problems and have action plans to avoid production disruptions.
- Communicate job performance standards to team members.
- Clearly and confidently communicate with client representatives as needed.
- Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.

Quality and Safety
- Ensure that all processes conform to the customer and Newrest specifications
- Always comply with good hygiene and manufacturing practices (e.g., hazard analysis and critical control points [HACCP], FIFO)
- Carry out cleaning, washing, and sanitation of premises by cleaning plan
- Investigate and complete incidents/accidents documentation
- Enforce safety processes and legal requirements for all processes
- Other job duties may be assigned based on operational need
Administrative Task
- Assist in interviewing and determining the individuals to join your department
- Approve time off requests and other leaves of absence
- Assist in performing performance reviews for all department team members
- Approve all timecards and resolve timecard discrepancies
- Mentor and coach team members and provide corrective actions as required
- Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
- Other job duties may be assigned based on operational need
Education/Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- College or Technical Training is a plus but not required.
- At least four years of experience supervising/managing people, preferably in a warehouse/distribution environment
- At least two years of experience leading a team of 75
- Good leadership ability
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with non-exempt and upper management levels
- Ability to effectively handle conflict and de-escalate emotionally charged situations
- Good understanding of OSHA, HR, and other employment laws
- Good knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysis
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes
- Good knowledge of HACCP & food safety standards
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Resilient self-starter who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment
- Aptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-through
- Good ability with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Good attention to detail and observation ability

The role of the Assistant Pick Pack Manager at Newrest is physically demanding. You must stand, walk, talk, listen regularly, and use your hands to handle or feel. The work environment will be in an open warehouse, with temperatures ranging from room temperature to very hot and noise levels varying from moderate to very loud.
