What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Driver position at Newrest?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Load and unload of all equipment on trucks.
- Check to ensure the correct amount of trolleys and cabinets to be delivered before loading.
- Fill pre-trip inspection book & perform mandatory safety checks of the vehicle for each shift.
- Ensure the loading the products into vehicles is done according to plan galley.
- Ensure all items are delivered on time for each flight.
- Communicate by radio to supervisors and dispatcher for all items related to the job, including to provide updates and issues on whereabouts.
- Drive a heavy vehicle while respecting traffic regulations.
- Secure all products before delivery to the aircraft by sealing material in the truck.
- Maintain clean working area, clean loading docks, and clean equipment.
- Clean the vehicle and the area around the dock after each shift.
- Observe the proper use of equipment.
- Maintain proper compliance with general manufacturing practices.
- Visibly wear Newrest uniform, including safety vest, work boots, and SIDA badge.
- Fill various security documents and certificates related to safety and HACCP.
- Train new drivers.
- Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported
- Follow all procedures for health, safety, and security.
- Properly utilize and comply with all relative technology provided to complete daily functions.
- Follow all current and new operation procedures.
- Communicate to leadership if a safety risk is presented.
- Accommodate any job task requested by leadership.
- Understand and be aware of the rapidly changing work environment.
- Be diligent, punctual, and reliable
- Perform other duties as assigned
