What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Non CDL position at Newrest?
SUMMARY :
The Driver loads food carts on the truck, drives the truck to the airport, and unloads the food directly on to the plane. This individual makes this trip at least twice a day. The difference between the Half Cab Driver and the CDL Driver is that the CDL Driver will need an active CDL License and operates the larger trucks, which leads to loading larger flights.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Ensure on-time delivery of all items for each flight.
- Responsible for the safety and protection of self, co-workers, meals, and equipment while operating vehicle or performing tasks surrounding Newrest vehicles.
- Communicate by radio to supervisors and dispatchers.
- Drive a company vehicle while respecting traffic regulations.
- Secure all products before delivery to the aircraft by sealing material and truck.
- Load and unload of all equipment on a truck in a safe manner.
- Ensure that the correct number of meals for each flight are packed and assigned correctly according to all customer specifications and client instructions booklets.
- Check aircraft trolleys and meals to ensure all are adhering to Newrest high quality standards.
- Check the conformity of the amount of trolleys and cabinets to be delivered before loading.
- Fill pre-trip inspection book and perform mandatory safety checks of the vehicle for each shift.
- Load the products into the vehicles according to plan galley.
- Ensure the vehicle and dock area is clean after each shift.
- Fill out various security, safety, and HACCP documents.
- Train new drivers and helpers.
- Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Observe the proper use of equipment.
- Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
