Primary Function
The Sr Systems Engineer will assist in designing, building, and maintaining a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across multiple environments in the organization. This role works as a part of a team who is responsible for automating, supporting, and deploying applications to on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure ranging from traditional (server, storage, network) as well as containers and application infrastructure (web servers, databases, etc.). This also includes reviewing and analyzing current DevOps practices and making recommendations for improvements. This position works closely with the Manager of Application delivery to mentor and lead the team towards successful completion of ongoing projects. The Sr Systems Engineer utilizes source control tools and works with the development team to assist with any deployment issues.

- Work closely with team to Lead, provide guidance and ensure the success of other team members.
- Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in- house information systems that support core organizational functions.
- Training the team on new systems, protocols, and best practices.
- Leads the day-to-day operational support for server, storage, or network infrastructures.
- Track progress and review project tasks to ensure deadlines are met
- Effective at managing multiple priorities; ability to organize time and resources to deliver consistent results for the business.
- Independent judgement is needed when determining security, system change, and operability.
- Facilitate discussions with business and technical team members to drive towards issue resolution.
- Take ownership of different processes and take responsibility for their success.
- Setting up development, test, and production environments for websites/systems.
- Fixing/patching/upgrading code, plugins, extensions, and applications as needed.
- Monitoring servers using tools like LogicMonitor, Grafana, and Native OS Performance monitoring.
- Work closely with development teams and business units to manage software releases.
- Assesses current processes, works on their improvement while also establishing new processes.
- Works independently on most tasks and uses good judgment for when to engage other resources.
- Be the primary process owner for two or more key business or IT processes.
- Have key involvement in implementation planning for new systems or updates to existing systems.
- Any other job responsibilities requested by management.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
- 5-7 years of experience working with and supporting windows web-based applications (loan servicing or mortgage experience preferred).
- Experience writing PowerShell scripts.
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows based environments and EMC/NetApp Storage.
- Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application
- Data center cabling of storage equipment, servers, and chassis
- Cloud experience (Azure)
- Experience with virtualization and containerization focused in VMware
- Experience with monitoring systems – Logic Monitor
- Knowledge of and experience with back up CommVault
- Experience in deploying Hyper Converged/hyper-Converged Infrastructure (Cisco UCS, Nutanix).
- Knowledge in automation software
- Scripting skills
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
- Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery.
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
