Job Summary
The Master Control Operator will control the video and audio final product and monitoring for quality for all News Services and channels. The operators are responsible for insuring the integrity of our networks for the different channels they run 24-hours a day, every day.
Responsibilities
- Monitor on-air signal and maintain quality standards.
- Create and maintain the program log and assist traffic department with changes.
- Insert commercials and give commercial cues to studio.
- Record or store programs and program segments for playback through the imagine automation system and record a backup disk for emergency use.
- Play back programming to air making sure all segments are scheduled correctly.
- Upload program content, various show segments, and commercials into storage for playback.
- Identify and assist with troubleshooting equipment problems.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance.
- Identify problems and take prompt corrective action.
Qualifications
- High School degree required, Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in broadcast/cable environment preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of production equipment and production technique preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of computer based production equipment preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of video/audio signal and tape dynamics preferred.
- Knowledge in current and emerging newscast technologies.
- Ability to make accurate and quick decisions to maintain integrity of operations.
- Flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends and holidays

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $47,040.00 - $77,280.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
