Summary of position
The Social Media intern produces content creation for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, collaborating with the newsroom and NewsdayTV.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Will be expected to help assist in the overall engagement and sourcing across all social platforms with an emphasis on growing our Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok pages
- Assisting with social content creation (IG Stories, feed posts, Reels / TikToks / Shorts)
- Lives and breathes social media and industry trends / able to adapt to the ever-changing algorithms
- Has video editing experience and can repackage NewsdayTV content with a social-first, vertical strategy
- Knowledge of Instagram feed post creation apps such as Canva, Adobe Express, etc.
- Helps with optimizing videos for TikTok and YouTube with keyword research and platform search strategy
- Community engagement with promoting content in Facebook groups, etc.
