What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contractor: Lead QA Automation Engineer position at Newsela?
Seeking to hire a long-term Contractor based out of Argentina or Mexico for a Principal Automation Engineer to be an expert in the development and implementation of a new test automation framework. This role focuses on building a scalable typescript / WebdriverIO / PlayWright-based automation framework, migrating existing automated tests, and adding new tests to the new framework with the help of existing QE engineers
Scope of Services :
- Architect, develop and maintain scalable, automated frameworks and tests.
- Building a new automation framework using TypeScript and WebdriverIO / PlayWright.
- Responsible for developing automated regression test cases using existing automated tests and or manual test cases.
- Build test automation from scratch at the services / API layer.
- Collaborate with Developers, product owners, and other SDETs to strategize and build automation scripts.
- Be an advocate for software quality throughout all phases of development.
- Effectively communicate test status and progress to all stakeholders. You will find, document, and track bugs as needed.
- Support production releases as needed
