Repair Technician

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshoots to component level and repairs all company medical equipment.
• Organizes and prioritizes repairs based on area equipment needs.
• Reconditions product by bringing up to current manufacturing specifications and checking to ISO standards.
• Prepares repair estimates and statements including additional actions or steps that need to be taken to ensure successful operation of the product.
• Travels to company warehouses outside of home warehouse to conduct repairs.
• Quality inspects and tests all equipment to ensure conformance to manufacturer design and safety standards
• Quality inspects/calibrates/tests and document all test equipment assigned to designated work area according to ISO department procedures.
• Evaluates returned equipment and parts; communicates with corporate regarding needed repairs, cause of damage, warranty issues, etc.
• Provides electronic product feedback.
• Maintains accurate time-keeping for business unit allocation and record keeping for conducted repairs.
• Fills and tracks parts orders; handles inventory levels.
• Provides detailed evaluations for FDA and legal departments.
• Assists in the training of new employees on level one repairs and review the quality of all work performed.
• Assists in the development of the department S.O.P.’s in accordance of ISO standards.
• Assists in departmental hazard material and safety requirements.
• Completes all required training applicable to assigned position.
• Supports warehouse and equipment maintenance, as needed.
• Inspects equipment for damage and/or wear and ensures that it is functioning at expected levels.
• Upon pickup of equipment, ensures all equipment accessories are accounted for.
• Cleans, handles and safely transports inventory as it enters and leaves the service center.
• Ensures that safe handling procedures and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) are used at all times.
• Completes all required training applicable to assigned position.
• Responsible for proper use and care of company electronic devices.
• Additional duties as requested or required.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in electronics or related field preferred, or equivalent technical training.
• Must possess knowledge of electronics and mechanics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in the use of all electronic test equipment.
• Proficiency in the use of power and hand tools.
• Ability to perform any/all repairs to Company standards.
• Competency in MS Office products.
• Proficiency with Company-specific information systems
• Proficiency with ISO standards and OSHA as it pertains to technical service.
• Knowledge of all aspects of repair/evaluation and invoicing processes.
• Ability to maintain composure, diplomacy and professionalism in all situations regarding service to customers.
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing with Department of Motor Vehicles. Must have no major violations in the past five consecutive years and no more than two minor moving violations or at-fault accidents in the past 36 consecutive months.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception, night driving vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands; reach with hands and arms; and talk, hear, smell and stand.
• The employee is frequently required to sit and stand for extended periods of time; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
