Overview
We are seeking a RNFA or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with First Assist Certification to join our talented team. This position will work directly with one of our Neurosurgeons, providing expert care in both the clinic and operating room settings.
Duties
- Collaborate with the neurosurgeon in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the clinic.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, order diagnostic tests, and develop individualized care plans in consultation with the surgeon.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education, follow-ups, and wound management.
- Serve as a first assist in the operating room, supporting the surgeon during a variety of neurosurgery procedures.
- Accurately document patient encounters and treatment plans in the medical record.
- Participate in call coverage and other duties as assigned by the supervising surgeon.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Precertify and schedule all surgeries and diagnostic testing.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Mississippi.
- Current certification as a First Assist (RNFA) or Nurse Practitioner Board Certification with completion of RNFA program.
- Previous experience in neurosurgery or spine surgery is highly preferred, but strong candidates with a demonstrated interest in neurosurgery are welcome to apply.
