Job Title: Domain Manager – Industrial Water

Department: Sales

Reports To: Director of Commercial Technologies

Status: Exempt

Summary

The Domain Manager is a pivotal management role tasked with streamlining the commercial proposal process, elevating domain expertise, and ensuring that Newterra remains a leader in our industry. Reporting to the Director of Commercial Technologies, Domain Managers act as a bridge between the sales team and various departments within Newterra, contributing to the company’s growth through a fusion of commercial and technical strategies. The Domain Manager – Industrial Water & Wastewater will have broad, extensive experience in dealing with middle-market and heavy industrial applications for the treatment of supply, including further treatment of processed wastewater for reuse. Commercial expertise with industrial customers in pharmaceutical, hydrogen, metals processing and general manufacturing and utilities is crucial to the support and growth of our industrial business. Experience navigating and understanding support entities, such as engineering firms, EPCs and contractors is necessary. Their technical knowledge will carry a basic understanding of the application and positioning of technologies for these applications, including media filtration, adsorption media, membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, and ion exchange.

ESSENTIAL Duties And Responsibilities

  • Technical Proficiency: Harness your extensive domain knowledge to provide technical guidance to internal teams and customers.
  • Ownership of Proposal Process: Oversee the strategic proposal process, encompassing the development of proposal templates and Statements of Qualifications (SOQ).
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with key customers to solicit feedback, comprehend their unique requirements, and adeptly address their needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of water quality regulations and standards to ensure that our products remain compliant.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to foster order growth.
  • Champion of Domain: Act as a champion, both commercially and technically, for your domain.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to unearth potential opportunities, identify market voids, and recognize competitive threats. Utilize this analysis to guide product development decisions.
  • Customer-Focused Sales Support: Provide support to customers through phone, virtual, and in-person meetings.
  • Case Studies and White Papers: Collaborate with the marketing and engineering teams to craft and present case studies and white papers.
  • Attendance at Major Water Conferences: Participate in major water conferences to stay current and establish connections.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety by adhering to Newterra’s safety policies and procedures, reporting safety concerns, near-misses, and incidents.
  • Comply with company processes outlined in Newterra’s online systems and programs, and actively contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Complete all assigned training relevant to the position within the specified timeframe.
  • Carry out responsibilities while adhering to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline); a master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the water filtration industry.
  • Commercial experience is a fundamental requirement.
  • Profound technical knowledge of water treatment processes and technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in market research and analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Physical Demands

May be required to sit for prolonged periods or required to frequently stand, walk, and use business equipment daily such as a computer, copier, telephone, etc.; occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 15 lbs. Complex thinking and analysis required with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

Work Environment

Generally, works in an office environment. (Remote/Hybrid arrangements are acceptable)

Travel is 20-30% of time.
