Newton CFV, a Middleby company, is a rapidly growing organization. Newton CFV collaborates with globally recognized equipment manufacturers, beverage suppliers, convenience store chains, and restaurants to build and incorporate CFV technology in beverage dispensing and sanitizing systems. Newton is looking to hire a NPI Sourcing Manager.
The NPI Sourcing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing process and managing the supply chain for new product introductions. This role involves creating and maintaining detailed bills of materials (BOM) to ensure accurate cost estimation and product development. This role involves collaborating closely with R&D teams to align sourcing strategies with project requirements and timelines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing, supplier management, and product development with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Additionally, you must be a strategic thinker and be able to see the big picture. To be successful in this role you must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, be able to prioritize multiple deliverables, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Requirements:- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for new product introductions (NPI) that align with company objectives and timelines.
- Identify and qualify potential suppliers based on technical capabilities, cost, quality, and capacity to optimize supply chain processes to meet development timelines.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery performance.
- Collaborate with engineering to understand product requirements and specifications.
- Create and maintain comprehensive bills of materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness for all new product developments
- Participate in design reviews by providing input on manufacturability, cost, and supplier capabilities.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of components.
- Identify potential risks in the NPI process including timeline delays, supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and cost overruns.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful product launches.
- Monitor and report on NPI project status, highlighting risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and manage budgets for NPI sourcing activities, review cost estimation and cost targets with Senior Management, and meet cost targets.
- Work with suppliers to identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
- Facilitate sourcing of components and materials from other Middleby companies to leverage internal capabilities and resources.
- Provide technical support and guidance for projects, working closely with engineering and design teams to resolve supply chain-related challenges.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred but not required
- Experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on new product development.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments is preferred.
