PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Pre-Kindergarten Paraprofessional shall report directly to the principal; however, the paraprofessional is under the daily supervision of their assigned teacher/s. The Pre-Kindergarten Paraprofessional must be able to perform tasks involving light/moderate lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling and must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time. Vision, hearing and verbal communication are essential factors in performing required tasks, duties, and responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree or two years (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) of college OR HS diploma/GED with successful completion of the Georgia Paraprofessional Assessment Certification Test.
- Valid Paraprofessional Certificate.
- Be able to work well with adults and students, and possess good communication skills.
- Be well organized and have good time management skills.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

- Assists in student data collection.
- Assists in routine record-keeping.
- Prepares instructional materials according to supervising teacher’s lesson plans.
- Locates, procures, operates and returns needed equipment.
- Assists in routine classroom housekeeping responsibilities.
- Be physically able to perform tasks involving light to heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling and must be able to walk and/or stand a minimum of six (6) hours with breaks.
- Assists in ordering/inventorying classroom equipment, materials and supplies.
- Demonstrates loyalty to the school, school system and administrators.
