Utility Worker/Donation Receiver
Full Time Equivalent: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday 9:00 am-5:30 pm, Tuesday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm, occasional Saturdays, as needed.
Mission: Newton Et Cetera Shop is a Christian resource for meeting human need by raising moneyfor Mennonite Central Committee and the local community through the sale of donated items; providing quality, affordable, recycled merchandisefor the community; and encouraging stewardship and recycling.

- Exhibit strong leadership skills and experience managing others in the workplace.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Able to lift and carry 30-50 pounds.
- Able to work with long standing, bending, and carrying periods.
- Able to remain flexible and positive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly.
- Able to follow oral and written directions.
- Able to communicate effectively with donors, customers, volunteers & staff.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle money and sensitive information.

Duties:
Workroom Presence
- Monday, Donation’s Receiver.
- Process and price items in all departments, as needed.
- Assist volunteers in gathering supplies to sort, price, and stock departments, as needed.
- Assist the Workroom Manager with recycling and salvage programs; assist in monitoring recycling and salvage receptacles.
- Assist the Workroom Manager with other duties as needed.
Retail Presence
- Organize, clean, and stock retail racks and shelves, as needed.
- Clerk, as needed.
- Assist the Retail Manager with other duties as needed.
Daily Operations:
- Assist in managing daily operations with other staff, including opening, closing, and securing the building.
- Assist volunteers, donors, and customers as needed.
- Clean volunteer/staff and sales floor restrooms.
- Perform other tasks as requested by management.
Reports to: General Manager, Workroom Manager, Retail Manager, and Assistant Manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
