What We Expect from You:
As a Grinder Associate, you will be responsible for operating machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind metal products and parts according to established blueprints and engineering specifications. You will perform basic general manufacturing duties, which could include grinding and sanding parts to smooth or remove excess material for further finishing.
Job Duties:
- You will grind or sand cabinets, frames, and parts to remove excess welds, weld splatters, scratches, sharp edges, burrs, and rough spots.
- You will operate equipment or tools such as grinders and sanders.
- You will use computers where required to perform assigned tasks.
- You will monitor and maintain all equipment being used to perform duties and notify your supervisor of any issues or repairs needed.
- You will inspect and stack processed parts, placing the correct paperwork with the completed parts.
- You will adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- You will follow workmanship standards and ISO requirements.
- You will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- 1 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
- You need the ability to read, write, and understand instructions, warnings, labels, and postings.
- You must be able to work with occasional supervision and work well with others in a team atmosphere.
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
Heavy Physical Activity/Demands:
- You will need to exert heavy physical effort, including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material or equipment up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- You will need the ability to stand, walk, climb, reach, lift, carry, pull, push, grasp, stoop, squat, bend, and stretch as needed throughout the entire shift.
- You will need the ability to continuously work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil, and heavy equipment.
- Personal protective equipment is normally required for this position.
