Job Summary
Newton Learning Center is UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP and seeking a passionate and dedicated Toddler Teacher to join our growing educational team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and engaging with children in a fun and creative manner.

Infant teachers create a positive, respectful, and safe environment for the children. They also ensure that all safety regulations are followed

Responsibilities of a Toddler Teacher

Being a toddler teacher involves a unique blend of skills, patience, and creativity. These educators play a crucial role in the early development of children, setting the foundation for lifelong learning and social interaction. Below are some key responsibilities of a toddler teacher:

Creating a Safe and Nurturing Environment

  • Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment that is free from hazards. Regularly check toys, furniture, and equipment for any safety issues.
  • Emotional Support: Provide a nurturing atmosphere where toddlers feel loved, secure, and valued.

Planning and Implementing Educational Activities

  • Curriculum Design: Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to the developmental needs of toddlers, focusing on cognitive, emotional, and physical growth.
  • Interactive Learning: Incorporate play-based learning activities to engage toddlers and foster curiosity and creativity.

Monitoring and Assessing Development

  • Observation: Regularly observe children's behavior, interactions, and developmental progress. Note any significant changes or milestones.
  • Assessment: Use informal assessments to track developmental progress and identify areas where individual children may need additional support.

Encouraging Social and Emotional Development

  • Social Skills: Facilitate group activities that encourage sharing, cooperation, and communication among toddlers.
  • Emotional Regulation: Help children understand and express their emotions in a healthy and constructive way.

Communication with Parents and Guardians

  • Regular Updates: Provide parents with updates on their child's progress and any concerns or achievements.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: Organize and conduct meetings to discuss developmental milestones and address any questions or concerns.

Professional Development and Collaboration

  • Continual Learning: Stay informed about the latest early childhood education research and techniques through workshops, courses, and professional development opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational environment.

Classroom Management

  • Routine Establishment: Create a structured daily routine that balances active and quiet times, ensuring toddlers know what to expect throughout the day.
  • Behavior Guidance: Implement positive discipline strategies to guide behavior and manage conflicts in a constructive manner.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, toddler teachers not only foster early learning and development but also support children in becoming confident and independent individuals.

Experience

  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field from a recognized university is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Infants in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging activities that cater to diverse learning styles.
