What are the responsibilities and job description for the Short/Long Term Tutor (.5 FTE) position at Newton Public Schools - District Wide?

SUMMARY:If the Newton Public School is in need of a short-term Tutor during the year, a representative from the school department will call to hire and schedule the Tutors based on licensure and student need. Once active, the Tutor will log hours and will be paid through the Newton Public Schools. Tutoring can take place at the school, home, hospital or other location depending on situation and need.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid MA DESE license
- Applicants must have their transportation
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

To provide home and/or hospital tutoring for student(s) that require such services. The tutors must write progress notes and/or reports and perform duties to support the direct service provided to a student in the classroom. They must coordinate and/or meet with school staff to coordinate the work to be completed during the tutoring sessions.
These tutoring positions are temporary, at-will, and non-benefits eligible. Candidates will be contacted when positions become available.
Salary: $60 per hour. Approx 15-25 hours per week (depends on need)
