SUMMARY : The English Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and conducting a comprehensive English instructional program for high school students in grades 9-12. Newton offers a variety of different English classes in our program, with particular emphasis on reflecting and celebrating the diversity of our students within the literature we teach. Full time English teachers teach four classes at a variety of levels and at this time are seeking applicants with diverse experiences and / or a willingness to diversify their experience.

- Appropriate DESE teaching license
- Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use technology effectively

Work Environment :
Work is generally performed in a school environment during the school day, however there may be occasions for afterschool meetings (ex : Back to School Night). Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Rarely absent or late unless the situation is of an emergency nature.Physical Requirements :
