Summary :
- The purpose of this position is to instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the students shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, sportsmanship and service to others.

Assumes responsibility for care of equipment and facilitiesAssumes responsibility for a safe environment for student athletesModels positive behaviors, especially with regard to sportsmanship and the alcohol, tobacco and drug rulesDelegates staff assignments to assistant coachesWorking knowledge of Nordic Ski skills and techniquesGreat communication with students and adults.Develops and organizes practice programEvaluates assistant coaches and playing personnelPlans and develops game responsibilitiesConducts and analyzes scouting reportsAssists student athletes in college advancementMaintains and inventories all equipment and suppliesActs as liaison person in relating the athletic program to the staff, administration, general public, and local news mediaConsistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the studentsResponsible for implementing "other job related duties" as needed.Work Environment & Physical Requirements :

Majority of work is performed in an outdoor environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. Climate could and will play a factor at times.Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the coach is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The teacher is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and / or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and / or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
