Full Job Description

Interact with students to meet the individual needs to support play, exploration, and learning.
Implement activities and curriculum that will support and develop self-esteem and social skills.
Communicate professionally with fellow staff and parents.
Help to build teamwork among all areas of the preschool.
Ability to create, enhance and maintain the preschool's policies and program.
Show knowledge of and be able to use all assessment tools.
Develop, plan, and prepare instructional aids / materials for classroom activities.
Assist children with meal times and clean-up.
Maintain appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom and equipment.
Attend and participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, and other meetings upon request.
Counsel children when needs arise.
Arrange the classroom into well-defined, organized, areas of interest.
Direct the other staff in the classroom to ensure the class is functioning in an orderly manner.
Communicate appropriately to parents and maintain developmental profiles for children.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $20.00-22.00 per hour

Expected hours : 40 per week

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education strongly preferred.

Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education required.

Two years documented prior childcare or teaching experience required

Willingness and ability to complete all clearances required by governing agencies

Friendly, welcoming, outgoing personality required

Upbeat, positive and optimistic attitude required

Effective verbal communication skills are a must

Outstanding time management and organizational skills to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment with general supervision

Patient, courteous listener with the ability to show empathy required

Ability to interact professionally with multiple levels of personnel within the organization internally and externally

Effective verbal communication skills are a must

Highly motivated, self-starting professional

May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk frequently during the day.

May stand four (4) to eight (8) hours per day.

May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion or more depending on child's weight.

Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.
