Apply today to the Summer Youth Development Professional (YDP) position at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC).
The Youth Development Professional is responsible for planning, facilitating, and supervising activities and programs within a designated program area. This role emphasizes empowering youth to achieve their greatest potential by ensuring the safety of members, maintaining the quality of activities, and upholding the appearance of the Club at all times.
Essential Duties
- Plan and implement quality programs for youth that encourage participation from all members
- Provide guidance and role modeling for members
- Mentor and inspire youth, adults and volunteers in the creative process
- Keep records of participants, schedules and attendance
- Attend staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Strong ability to mentor and inspire youth.

Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Pass pre-employment background screening and drug test
- The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, be outdoors, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 10 lbs.
