Qualifications: T he ideal candidate will have:
- Valid CT teaching certificate for this position (102, 097)
- Interest in working in a high-performing district in an elementary school
- Experience coaching teachers and leading professional learning.
- Deep understanding of the science of reading, structured literacy, and a
- Strong data analysis skills and experience using assessments to inform instruction.
- Strong knowledge of the MTSS process
- Lead data-driven instructional practices by leveraging assessments such as DIBELS,
- Support the implementation of structured phonics, vocabulary development,
- A ssist teachers in using data-driven decision-making to differentiate instruction and
- Collaborate with teachers to identify students in need of targeted literacy
- Provide direct support to students through evidence-based reading interventions.
- Lead PLCs focused on literacy best practices, data analysis, and instructional
- Foster collaborative discussions among teachers to enhance curriculum
- Provide professional development sessions on literacy instruction, assessment, and
- Work closely with school and district leadership to align literacy initiatives with
- Serve as a liaison between teachers, interventionists, and administrators to ensure
- Communicate with families as needed to provide literacy resources and strategies
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Commitment to promoting a positive culture
- Stay informed on literacy research and share best practices with staff
R esponsibilities: The Language Arts Consultant will be a part of the district and school based
leadership teams, coach teachers and provide direct instruction to students in need of interventions.
