POSITION: Long-term substitute for Elementary Spanish
(FLES: Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools)
SCHOOL: Hawley and Head O’Meadow Elementary Schools
START DATE: Immediate through June 2025
REMUNERATION: Appropriate salary step per Teachers’ Contract
QUALIFICATIONS: Connecticut Certificate (023 and 101, or appropriate
Elementary K-6 certification with fluency in the written and
spoken Spanish)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to work enthusiastically and effectively with primary
grade students in two elementary schools
Passion for teaching FLES
Enthusiasm for curriculum and program development
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Outstanding people skills
Capacity to work across multiple school settings
History of demonstrating initiative and
resourcefulness
