POSITION: School Counselor (12 Week Position)
SCHOOL: Newtown High School, Sandy Hook, CT 06482
STARTING DATE: Mid-February
REMUNERATION: As per teacher’s contract
Qualifications: Must hold Connecticut State Certification as a school counselor,
grades K-12.
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to counsel students in groups and individually.
Ability to instruct developmental classes on topics of career
education and college selection.
Responsibilities: To counsel an assigned group of students, grades 9-12.
To confer with teachers and parents.
To be a part of a guidance team of which administers all aspects of
the high school guidance program.
