Newtown Savings Bank is seeking an individual with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience with knowledge of investor servicing and understanding of loan sales and reconciling accounts to join our team as a Loan Servicing Processing Supervisor. The position is primarily responsible for loan processing and Servicing Investor functions. Maintains effective controls to ensure that activities are documented and measured, meeting internal regulatory and investor requirements to minimize risk. Ensure timely reporting, remitting, and reconciliation of investor. This is an onsite opportunity at our Corporate office in Newtown, CT. The role has a remote option of one day per week.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primarily responsible for loan processing which includes onboarding of new loans, loan maintenance and payment processing.
- Responsible for Secondary Market Servicing Investor Relations. Ensures the timely submission of reporting and remittances within specified deadlines.
- Investigates and resolves all servicing related differences to avoid penalties and keep the bank in good standing.
- Reconciles investor custodial accounts and portfolios.
- Supervise the daily investor remittance process and the input of loan sales.
- Works in conjunction with the Asset Recovery Department on HAMP, Non-HAMP, FRMC, and MPF modifications. Responsible for the core processing of the modification once trial is successfully completed. Reports accordingly through LPS.
- Assist with daily loan participation transactions and activity report for which Newtown Savings is the lead bank. Ensures payments are remitted according to participation agreement. Assists in the verification of incoming transactions for bought participations as needed.
- Responsible for balancing monthly Investor and Loan Servicing related GL’s.
- Assist the Loan Servicing Programmers as volume demands.
- Ensures that customers receive exceptional service and utilizes Service Plus techniques when dealing with both internal and external customers. Positively promotes the Bank and the Bank’s services.
- Understands loan policy and department procedures and keeps up with technical and procedural changes. Recommends ways to maximize efficiency.
- Conduct at least 2 monthly department meetings with staff to discuss workflow, improve procedures and new technologies or systems.
- Participate in various civic and community functions to further enhance the image of the bank and to network for continuous new business opportunities.
- Establish SMART goals, perform quarterly goal assessment and annual performance evaluations of direct reports, coach and motivate, recommend personnel actions, and ensure that assigned tasks are completed within required timeframe.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, and have one to two years in loan servicing, or similar working experience.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of investor servicing and understand loan sales and reconciling accounts. Good analytical, management and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- COCC INSIGHT system experience a plus.
- Experience working with loan systems.
- Must be well organized and dependable, and work well in a team environment.
- Goal and deadline oriented.
- Ability to formulate decisions or make recommendations.
- Must demonstrate the ability to use various software applications and internet applications.
