Maintenance Worker I - Rotating Shifts - Weekends

Under the guidance of the Supervisor, is responsible for a variety of duties relating to the operations of the entire facility, running errands and performing minor Maintenance/Engineering work. Maintains lawns, bushes, gardens, sidewalks, driveways and parking lots. Prepares covers and cleans surfaces for painting, mixes colors, spray paints or hand paints ceilings and walls. Performs minor repairs of masonry, plaster, tile and partitions; glues, nails and repairs damaged parts and installs shelving. Repairs and replaces ceiling and floor tiles. Assists with the loading and unloading of supplies/waste materials, as needed. Distributes parts and supplies for the department as needed. Moves departmental furnishings and equipment. Cleans and replaces air conditioning systems/filters as required. Assists other trades as needed. Performs snow removal. May be required to electronically input data into handheld devices. Performs other related duties as required. This is a position with no supervisory responsibility.

The shift for this role is Sunday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, and Monday through Thursday 3:00 pm – 11: 00 pm.

This is a full time position located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Lower Manhattan Hospital.

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Minimum of two years building maintenance experience

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
