Step into this crucial role, responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of our Infection Prevention and Control Program. Monitor cases of communicable diseases, health care-associated infections and epidemiologically significant organisms. Collect, analyze and report on surveillance data, ensuring the program complies with all applicable regulations. Identify and investigate potential outbreaks, and implement appropriate prevention and control measures. Provide consultation services to various departments throughout our hospital, by partnering closely with staff nurses, nursing leaders and physicians on their infection prevention and control. Regularly evaluate the program, and actively participate in performance improvement initiatives.

This is a part time day position that requires flexibility in your schedule. Varied start and end times. No Weekends or holidays
Preferred Criteria:
- CBIC certification
- Three years experience in an ICU ED setting
- Infection Control experience preferred
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Master's degree or current enrollment in a Master's program
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 3-5 years of acute care experience
- NY RN license
- Candidates with a passion for and strong interest in Infection Control encouraged to apply
- Ability to take certification examination after 2 years or less of employment required
- Familiarity with Micro Soft Word, Excel and navigating the Internet
