Perfusionist - Rotating Shifts
Step into the Perfusion Department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, and be a catalyst for life-saving clinical care. Our department is known by many as one of the best perfusion school sites in the country, and it is recognized around the world for its innovative techniques many of which have been peer-reviewed and published in major journals. Join our team of 30 Perfusionist’s in providing extracorporeal circulation/cardiopulmonary support to patients until they’re able to maintain their own circulatory support. Be an ambitious team member, working varying hours alongside operating room professionals who are committed to correcting patients conditions as quickly and effectively as possible. Inject medications using a heart-lung machine. Perform ancillary duties, such as cell saving, ECMO, VAD, plasma saving and IABP. Participate in performance improvement initiatives inspired by our mission: Putting Patients First.
Preferred
Prior clinical perfusion experience
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from a recognized college or university or Bachelor's Degree and enrolled in an accredited school of cardiovascular perfusion and completed the case requirements to sit for the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Board
New Grads:
NYS Limited Permit in Perfusion
Must obtain American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Board Certification and NYS License within two years of employment
Non-New Grads:
Board Certified in Clinical Perfusion by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
