Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Piping Designer located in Orlando, FL. The Piping Designer will be responsible for tasks related to refineries, plant layout, and computer-aided design (CAD) for piping. The role will involve designing and optimizing piping systems for various industrial applications.
Job Duties
- Perform piping designs for high energy and process piping according to ASME codes and standards.
- Proficient in 3D piping modeling software such as PDS, PDMS, and SmartPLANT 3D (SP3D).
- Perform pipe routing on high temperature systems, considering space constraints, stress analysis requirements, accessibility and maintenance.
- Ability to interpret and mark-up Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Generate and maintain piping layouts, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings.
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate piping designs.
- Support model reviews, clash detection, and resolution using SmartPLANT Review and Freeview.
- Select appropriate piping materials, valves, and fittings as per project specifications.
- Prepare and review piping drawings, isometrics, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Ensure designs adhere to safety regulations, client standards, and industry best practices.
- Work with project teams to implement constructability and maintainability improvements.
- Deliver engineering outputs within project schedules to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ANSI, API, and ASTM standards for piping systems
