Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Specialist – Travel & Editing to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support in document editing, writing, and processing OCONUS travel paperwork. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and clarity of documents, coordinating travel documentation, and providing administrative support to various departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong editing and writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.NOTE: This role is currently hybrid, requiring 3 days a week on-site at Fort Detrick. It will transition to a full-time on-site position in June 2025. Qualified candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Frederick, MD.
Position Responsibilities:
Document Editing & Writing:- Review and edit documents for grammar, clarity, and accuracy.
- Write and compile meeting minutes and other professional documentation.
- Ensure all documents adhere to proper English grammar and formatting standards.
- Complete and submit required travel documentation for OCONUS trips.
- Understand and follow specific submission requirements for various travel destinations.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure compliance with travel procedures.
- Process access requests and other necessary documentation.
- Organize and manage document workflows efficiently.
- Work independently while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Strong editing and writing skills with a solid grasp of grammar rules.
- Experience in administrative roles involving document review and processing is a plus.
- Prior experience with OCONUS travel paperwork is preferred but not required.
- Ability to think critically and work independently.
- Recent graduates with strong learning abilities and a willingness to adapt are encouraged to apply.
