Position : Dining Room Manager

Location : Saline, MI

Hours : Full Time
Salary : $55,000-$60,000

Job Summary:
The Dining Room Manager is responsible for overseeing the guest experience within the daily operations of our Senior Living Life Plan Community. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring dining services exceed operational goals while providing the best resident dining experience. The Dining Room Manager will foster a positive work environment for staff, mentor team members, and create exceptional dining experiences for our residents.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

Customer Experience:

  • Engage actively with residents and guests throughout all dining venues, ensuring service and operational excellence.

  • Lead by example in maintaining service standards of Hospitality across all Front of House colleagues.

  • Set the standard for service excellence, continuously mentoring and coaching colleagues to uphold these standards.

Operations:

  • Collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure resident satisfaction.

  • Ensure adherence to safety, proper food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity standards for all colleagues.

Financial:

  • Manage department controllable expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.

  • Assist with departmental scheduling to meet budget goals, adjusting as necessary.

  • Oversee beverage inventory management and update pricing based on fluctuations.

People Management:

  • Provide direction and manage the performance of all direct and indirect reports, fostering employee development and engagement.

  • Motivate and communicate effectively with employees to ensure a cohesive team.

  • Instruct and mentor staff in food preparation, garnishing, presentation, and customer service.

  • Lead by example in providing superior customer service, including being attentive, approachable, and engaging with residents.

Skills and Aptitude:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong customer/client focus and problem-solving skills with a "think outside the box" mentality.

  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team building and development.

  • Project management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift/pull up to 40 pounds.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, culinary school certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in Senior Living, high-end restaurants, country clubs, or hotel settings.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Required Certifications:

  • ServSafe Certification.

  • Choke Safety Certification.

  • TIPS Certification (preferred).

Pay Frequency:
