What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Jet Operator position at Nexeo Staffing?
Nexeo HR is seeking a skilled Water Jet Operator to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you’ll operate a high-pressure water jet machine to produce high-quality components. This position requires both technical ability and physical readiness, as you will be managing large materials and ensuring accuracy throughout the production process. Whether you have experience with a water jet or a press brake, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and contribute to our high production standards.
Responsibilities
• Machine Operation: Set up, program, and run CNC water jet equipment to ensure parts are cut to exact specifications.
• Material Handling: Load and unload heavy metal sheets and parts onto the machine using the proper handling equipment.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the water jet, including cleaning and loading the garnet into the hopper.
• Quality Control: Visually inspect parts for accuracy, check against blueprints, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
• Production Support: Stage materials for the next production phase and ensure production targets are met or exceeded.
• Safety & Cleanliness: Keep the work area organized and adhere to safety protocols while operating machinery and handling materials.
Qualifications
• Experience: Prior experience with either a water jet or press brake machine is preferred, with a stronger preference for press brake experience.
• Mechanical Skills: Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain machinery; must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16" accuracy.
• Blueprint Reading: Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints for part fabrication.
• Basic Computer Skills: Must be comfortable using computers to program and control the CNC water jet machine (training will be provided if needed).
• Physical Ability: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including crawling on the water jet table and lifting up to 100 lbs.
Pay
$15.00 - $18.00 Per Hour
Schedule
Day shift | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Monday - Friday
