Qualifications
Keen interest in natural resources and outdoors
Native and invasive plant identification knowledge
Prior experience spraying herbicide and the ability to study for and pass a test to become a licensed Pesticide Applicator
Must be able to obtain state issued Pesticide Operator's license within 30 days of employment
Travel with overnight stays of 2–4-night periods will be required for some job sites
Responsibilities
Please note that we also work outside come rain or come shine, and are exposed to insects including ticks and mosquitoes, or to poisonous plants such as poison ivy
You will be walking long distances, and carry equipment, such as chainsaws and gas-powered brush cutters or a sprayer (up to 50 lbs)
At times, you will be also required to operate UTVs, tractors, skid steers, and trucks with trailers
Conducting invasive species control (mechanical and chemical methods)
Working in vegetative communities such as prairies, wetlands, sedge meadows, woodlands, and naturalized basins
Learning plant identification, plant ecology and invasive species control methods
Mowing grass/brush
Cutting and piling brush
Controlled prescription burning
Herbicide application utilizing backpack/ATV sprayer
Utilization of hand tools and small gas-powered machinery including chainsaws, weed whackers, walk-behind mowers and ATV
Perform visual observer duties for drone spraying
Perform other duties as assigned
This job consists of 100% field work.
Some overnights may be required, with per diem reimbursed to employees. Employee will be required to meet on site for some projects, with excess mileage expense reimbursed, so reliable transportation is needed.

Pay Rate $20-22/hr based on work experience and qualifications
