Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Truck Shop Foreman to oversee daily operations in our Portland maintenance and repair shop. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on mechanical experience, and the ability to effectively manage a team of technicians while ensuring quality work and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the activities of shop technicians and mechanics.
- Schedule PMs according to weekly reports, and route and clear DVIR issues as they arise.
- Prioritize and assign work orders based on urgency, parts availability, and technician strengths.
- Perform diagnostics and assist with repairs as needed, especially on complex issues.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards.
- Review and verify Kona RO’s, and parts usage.
- Maintain communication between technicians, parts department, and management.
- Train and mentor new and existing shop employees.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, shop supplies, and tooling.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, enforce OSHA, and company safety protocols.
- Provide feedback on shop performance, productivity, and any issues to upper management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in diesel truck repair and maintenance.
- 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a shop environment preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills with Class 8 trucks and trailers.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency (work order systems, email, etc.).
- CDL preferred but not required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Fast-paced shop environment with exposure to loud noise, tools, and equipment.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), and working in and under vehicles.
- Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required.
