We are seeking a skilled Data Migration Engineer (Power Platform) with at least five years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions for data generation, collection, and processing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to migrate and deploy data across various systems. This individual will be required to work closely with members of NexGen and client’s teams, including but not limited to subject matter experts, technical staff, and project managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following :
Design, develop, and implement data migration strategies to support seamless data transfers across multiple platforms and environments.
Create, optimize, and maintain data pipelines for efficient data movement and processing.
Develop and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from different sources into target systems.
Ensure data integrity, quality, and security throughout the migration process.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, software developers, and business analysts to define data requirements and solutions.
Identify and resolve data-related issues that may arise during the migration process.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data migration processes, tools, and best practices.
Support data validation, reconciliation, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Monitor and optimize performance of data migration and processing workflows.
Implement and enforce data governance and compliance standards as per federal regulations.
Participate in Agile sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Collaborate with the staff to identify, address, and mitigate security risks and ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements.

Technical Skills :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data migration, ETL development, and data pipeline creation in Power Platform.
Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, Apache NiFi, or SSIS.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and transformation.
Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and governance principles.
Experience working in an Agile development environment using tools like Jira or Confluence.
Desired Skills :
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
Familiarity with containerization and deployment tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Certifications in AWS, Azure, or data engineering-related fields.
Prior experience supporting federal government projects and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a federal government setting with strict compliance and security requirements.
The successful candidate will also be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
US Citizenship, or legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
