Commercial title agency in Downtown Norfolk seeks a Real Estate Settlement Assistant to assist in file processing duties and post-closing for commercial transactions. Must possess experience with the real estate closing process from opening the new file to sending out documents and checks after closing. Exceptional verbal, telephone, email and written communication skills are a must. Most important is the ability to provide exceptional and professional customer service at all times and in all situations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Familiarity with settlement statements for residential and commercial purchase and refinance transactions.
2. Review title searches and title insurance commitments; familiarity with satisfying title requirements and reviewing exceptions for potential areas of challenge.
3. Send out completed transactional/ loan docs, final title policies and checks after closing.
4. Coordinate and manage telephone duties including closing appointments and post-closing matters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 2 years of experience with real estate settlements, processing and post-closing.
2. Ability to work with SoftPro closing software a plus
3. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
4. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Understanding of title insurance coverages.
7. Must be flexible and possess a passion for working in a close team environment.
