Job Description:
Database Administrators are responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of a database. They are involved in both the development and production environments and perform several critical tasks including:
- Installing and upgrading the database server and application tools.
- Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system.
- Modifying the database structure using knowledge of the database management system.
- Enrolling users and maintaining system security by controlling database access.
- Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreements, including management of database licenses.
- Conducting backups and restores of database information to ensure data safety.
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database.
- Generating various reports by querying from database as per need.
- Implementing and maintaining database security, setting up and maintaining database replication, and other data distribution mechanisms.
