- Reporting news stories for broadcast and digital platforms, including the wfxrtv.com website and various social media sites
- Working in concert with managers, producers and other colleagues to meet critical standards for accuracy, journalistic integrity, grammar and quality writing
- Researching, analyzing and vetting background information related to news stories to be able to provide complete and accurate information
- Gathering information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functions
- Shooting, editing and present news stories for broadcast and digital platforms
- Interacting with viewers at news events as well as station-sponsored community events
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
- On-air experience in news reporting strongly preferred
- Superior on-air presence
- Ability and willingness to work varying shifts, including overnights, weekends and holidays
- Familiarity with required equipment and systems strongly preferred, including broadcast camera and related gear, Adobe Premiere, ENPS and Wordpress
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations if needed
