A News Photographer works with an experienced team of dedicated, award-winning television journalists. Responsible for shooting and editing news stories for broadcast and operating video backpacks for live shots (TVU and LiveU). Must have experience with videography and editing, a sharp eye for visual storytelling, and a strong desire to own the big stories. Our news photographers work a variety of hours, including nights and weekends.
A college or vocational degree is preferred but not required. Priority is given to candidates with professional experience in television news or production photography or proof of a successful internship.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the willingness to work flexible hours. EOE M/F/D/V ~ Background check required.

- Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Shoots video for news/sports reports
- Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics, and shot requirements
- Sets up, composes, and executes video shots
- Maintains video equipment
- Edits video for television broadcasts and digital content
- Operates live backpacks (TVU, LiveU) and live truck
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum two years of experience operating video recording equipment
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, and other office equipment
- Proficiency with video and audio recording equipment
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
- Valid driver’s license
