In this position, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes under the guidance of our experienced culinary team. You will rotate through various kitchen stations, gaining exposure to different aspects of culinary operations. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and the cooking of menu items according to recipes and standards set by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
- Work at various kitchen stations (e.g., grill, sauté, prep) as assigned, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the hotel’s high standards.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation, paying close attention to detail in every dish.
- Collaborate with Cook 1s, Sous Chefs, and other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of kitchen inventory, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Take advantage of opportunities to learn new cooking techniques, recipes, and kitchen management skills from senior kitchen staff.
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel setting.
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations, with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong focus on food quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff, taking direction from Cook 1s, Sous Chefs, and the Executive Chef.
- Willingness to rotate through different kitchen stations and take on various tasks as needed.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen while maintaining high standards.
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required if you have relevant experience.
