In this position, you will play a crucial role in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes that align with the hotel's reputation for excellence. You will ensure that every dish meets our exacting standards, contributing to an unforgettable dining experience for guests.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Work at various kitchen stations (e.g., grill, sauté, prep) as assigned, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the hotel’s high standards.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation, paying close attention to detail in every dish.
- Collaborate other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of kitchen inventory, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Assist in menu development and contribute ideas for improving recipes and presentation.
- Follow all health, safety guidelines, and protocols including proper food handling, storage and disposal to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel setting.
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations, with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong focus on food quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff, taking direction from Cook 1s, Sous Chefs, and the Executive Chef.
- Willingness to rotate through different kitchen stations and take on various tasks as needed.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen while maintaining high standards.
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required if you have relevant experience.
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and a desire to build a career in the hospitality industry.
- Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
- Flexible schedule; ability to work weekends and holidays.
