We’re hiring a Garde Manger Chef to join the culinary team at a luxury hotel located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, GA. Garde Manger Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee all cold food production, including salads, charcuterie, cold appetizers, and buffet items.
- Ensure all food meets high presentation and quality standards before leaving the kitchen.
- Collaborate with Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to create seasonal menu items and banquet displays.
- Train and mentor culinary staff in cold food preparation techniques.
- Maintain organization of the garde manger station and ensure readiness for service.
- Monitor inventory, control waste, and ensure proper food storage and rotation.
- Responsible for properly stocking and organizing the walk-in refrigerator.
- Monitor food temperatures, storing food at safe temperatures.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen at all times.
Garde Manger Requirements and Qualifications:
- 2 years of culinary experience in a hotel or fine-dining restaurant environment, with specific experience in garde manger.
- Formal culinary training or equivalent experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques.
- Able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, team- oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and cold food plating techniques
- Physically able to stand, lift, bend, and perform cleaning duties as needed.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
