What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Installer position at Next Generation Solar?
Job Summary
We have service work on an existing system in Abilene right now, as well as new installs coming soon.
Duties
- Install solar panels and associated equipment on rooftops and ground mounts according to schematics and project specifications.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations.
- Conduct site assessments to determine the optimal placement of solar panels.
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards during installation.
- Perform electrical connections using voltmeters to ensure proper functionality of solar systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on construction sites.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise during installation and provide solutions as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or electrical work is preferred.
- Familiarity with schematics and ability to read blueprints is essential.
- Knowledge of NEC regulations related to solar installations is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required for installations.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- A valid driver's license may be required for travel between job sites.
