Registered Nurse First Assistant candidates for the CVOR opportunity will have the following job responsibilities:

As an integral member of the surgical team, the RNFA's primary responsibilities and functions include the following: Preparation of the operating site for surgical cases, Assures proper preparation and identification of surgical instrumentation and appropriate utilization of equipment, instrumentation and procedures within scope of practice.

Registered Nurse First Assistant candidates for the CVOR opportunity must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

• *Minimum of one year prior acute care RN experience (in any specialty) required for bonus eligibility; not applicable to current HCA employees or those employed by HCA within prior 12-month period.
• Graduate of an accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) and the State of FL Surgical Assistant Program; OR Medical School Graduate; OR Allied Health professional having completed 2250 hours surgical rotation
• Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from the American Red Cross (HCA chosen provider) OR American Heart Association required.
• Current Certification as First Assistant (CFA) or Surgical Assistant-Certified (SA-C) through ABSA
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current CFA having completed 350 cases. Two years of experience within the last four years.
• Prior Operating Room nursing experience preferred. Prior Open Heart Surgery experience highly desired.
• Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.

Additional Information:

• • · Shifts: 6:30- 3p M-F ( could be 10 hour shifts)
  **Will be asked to circulate or scrub for the CVOR if needed, might be asked to float as a FA to general OR
  • Current CFA having completed 350 cases
  • Current Certification as First Assistant

  · Unit Beds/ rooms: 2 CVOR rooms, general OR 12 rooms
  • On call? Yes 15 call rotations per month (1 week Mon, Wed, fri, sat , sun, next week Tues Thurs)
  Pay $4 on call, Call back- time and half
• **When on call/ can also be on call as a CVOR tech
• · Must have experience -General First Assist OR exp willing to cross train CV (must have at least 6 months exp)

Sal range:

$ (2yr)-$39.32 (5 yr)- $ 42.13 (10yr) $46.81 (20yr MAX) 56.17

SIGN ON : No sign on bonus available

Relo: Yes case by case

Shift Diffs: if on call for 4 hours during 7p-7a night shift diff $4.50

Weekend shift: if on call for 4 hours during weekend shift diff $3.00

National Cert: CNOR- $1.50 per hour
