Job Description

Next Glass is looking for an experienced full-stack software engineer to join our Brewery Solutions team. In this role you will work in a modern Ruby on Rails tech stack including Hotwire and Stimulus building the Ollie Ops and Ollie Order SaaS applications for breweries. Collaborating with other experienced engineers, you’ll work to expand Ollie’s capabilities and unlock new value for craft breweries in North America and around the world.

Location:

Next Glass Engineering is distributed and fully remote. However, you must be authorized to work in the United States or Canada and have regular work-week availability during U.S. business hours in ET, CT, MT, or PT time zones.

What We Look For:

  • Recent experience working on B2B or B2C SaaS software products
  • Strong technical skill set with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript
  • Solid grasp of web front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JS, responsive design, etc)
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people
  • Experience working closely with other developers
  • Experience writing tests for your code, unit, functional, integration, etc.
  • Outcome oriented and highly motivated, takes self-initiative and has willingness to learn
  • An understanding of modern web best practices with a desire to delight your users
  • A strong desire to share what you know and help others get better at their craft

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager to implement technical and product requirements, collaborating with team members in execution
  • Undertake continuous improvement of the technology stack, infrastructure, application uptime and performance.
  • Share knowledge and feedback to peers on code quality, product design and system design.
  • Gain an understanding of the beer production process and business domain, and work with the Product team to help refine requirements for new features and enhancements.
  • Takes part in support ticket escalations in order to assist the team in diagnosing and resolving customer inquiries and problems
  • Takes part in an on-call rotation to support the application in the event of rare outages and incidents

Bonus

  • Experience with Stimulus, ViewComponents, Hotwire, Tailwind
  • Experience with double entry accounting or integrating with accounting platforms
  • Experience home brewing or knowledge of the process of brewing beer
