SUMMARY
The Power Equipment Operator I is responsible for supporting the overall Warehouse functions. Duties include picking, put away, and inventory counting. This position may be assigned to a specific warehouse job function or to multiple areas as determined by business necessity.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate a cherry picker power equipment.
- Perform safe operation of warehouse material handling equipment including cherry pickers.
- Properly maintain said power equipment including proper battery charging and cleaning.
- Properly label cartons as required to identify shipment and product information.
- Identify inventory discrepancies noted to performance of duties and works with others to resolve.
- Fulfill replenishment movements accurately and productively following designated procedures.
- Put away received items from the dock area accurately and completely.
- Maintain neat and accurate inventory positions in racks.
- Communicate issues and problems on a timely basis to management team members.
- Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods with power equipment (e.g., cherry picker, EPJ, reach truck).
- Maintain ongoing housekeeping and orderliness.
- Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent specific experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years related experience or equivalent.
- Ability to operate 1 – 3 of powered equipment used at NLA (Cherry Picker, Reach Lift, Pallet Jack, Forklift)
- Safe lifting, turning, stacking and material handling techniques
- Basic proficiency in operating technical machinery and RF scanners.
- Basic warehouse concepts of inventory controls, product movement, order picking
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess cherry picker or reach truck operators’ certifications.

- Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The working environment may include warm/cold/dry damp conditions that will be encountered by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee will be required to work from heights of 20 to 30 feet while secured to equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
