Day Camp Theater and/or Dance Instructor
Next Level Day Camp for Girls is looking for a dynamic Day Camp Theater and Dance Instructor
The ability to get campers (and their counselors) involved and excited is a must. Camp ages range from 6 - 14 so the specialist will see a cross-section of ages
The Instructor must have enthusiasm, creativity, imagination, and a strong desire/ability to collaborate with summer staff. Additionally, someone who is inspiring and can be inspired, someone who can teach acting, singing, movement/dance.
Key Responsibilities
A Dance and Drama Instructor has the opportunity to teach any of the following programs:
- Creative and Performing Arts: dance, learn improvisation, tell stories, play charades, and perform skits
- Provide group supervision of campers with attention to behavior and group management, safety, security and skill development
- Organize daily lesson plans in a fun manne
- Use effective classroom management skills to lead the activity and effectively create an inclusive, fun environment
- Motivate campers by creating fun for them in your activity (i.e. songs, games, cheers, etc.)
- Encourage creativity and critical thinking
- Work effectively with fellow Instructors and Counselors; collaborate on daily responsibilities
- Complete assigned paperwork
- Have fun
At our Camp, campers will have all ranges of dance background from total beginner to experienced. Our goal is to provide a fun experience for all of them. , Zoomba, hip-hop and other forms of Dance can be introduced. An instructional dance background is a must!. Prior experience ! Camp runs from June 26th - August 4th
About 15 hours a week.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
